Integrated Biology and Undergraduate Science Education: A New Biology Education for the Twenty-First Century?
Abstract
This paper offers a concise summary of the September 2009 report from NRC's Board on Life Sciences entitled
A New Biology for the Twenty-First Century. The report offers the most comprehensive review of issues such as where biological research is likely to progress over the next several decades and how education in the life sciences might keep pace with this rethinking of research priorities and progress. It also proposes a bold new integrated research agenda, with important implications for the future of undergraduate and K12 science education.
